Severe thunderstorms and excessive rainfall threats continue in the Southeast through Friday. Heavy snow will continue over the higher elevations of the Central Rockies. A storm system moving over Hawaii will bring strong to severe thunderstorms, localized intense rainfall and flash flooding through Saturday. NWS is extending the comment period for the Experimental National Geographic Information System (GIS) Map Viewer (“the Viewer”) web application hosted on the Amazon Web Services public cloud through May 27, 2022. Many of the National Weather Service data sets are available in formats that are able to be imported directly into Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or your own custom map viewers or web pages. Data formats include downloadable shapefiles and KML formats, web services, and our basemaps in shapefile format.
